We will guarantee your sewer lines to be free from tree root blockages forever.
Starting
from a low $24.95 per month*
Q: How long does it take to do the treatment?
A: Depending on the length of your sewer line, it takes between 2-3 hours on the first visit. This involves CCTV inspection of the sewer lines to determine the conditions of the pipes and then any necessary cleaning before treatment.
Q: How can you guarantee it forever?
A: We take total control of your drains and whilst you are part of our Tree Root Inhibitor Program we maintain your sewer line and guarantee it to be free of any tree root blockages.
Q: Do we need to clean before the treatment?
A: It is not always necessary to clean a sewer before treatment. However, if large root masses exist and we think it necessary to cut them out, root control treatment must be applied immediately or postponed for 30 days to allow the roots to heal and start growing.
Q: Does the foam stop or interfere with the flow?
A: No. The normal sewer flow will pass under the foam during application. The flow of wastewater may become slower temporarily, but will not cause a blockage.
Q: Does this process kill the tree?
A: A very small percentage of the tree root system actually lives in the sewer pipe. The treatment will only kill the roots inside the pipe and approximately 300mm outside the pipe.
Q: If a sewer line blocks up, what procedures should we follow to have the guarantee applied?
A: Contact us immediately. We will attend at any time of the day or night to clear the blockage and return as soon as possible to investigate the cause, at no cost to you whatsoever.
Tree Root Inhibitor Program
Purple Plumbing's TRIP (Tree Root Inhibitor Program) is a way of insuring that you never need to worry about a blocked drain again. After visual inspection of your sewer drains, we clean and treat the drain lines using a combination of water jet technology along with herbicides that are placed in the sewer drains as a foam, for the purpose of eliminating roots and preventing further structural damage of the sewer pipe caused by live tree roots.
Roots are killed and potential blockages are avoided.
Only roots within the pipe and a very short distance outside the pipe are affected. Trees and shrubs immediately above ground are not harmed.
How does TRIP work?
Our root treatment is composed of a herbicide that penetrates root cell walls, bursts them and causes the root to die and decay. A root growth inhibitor then attaches to surface active organic materials to inhibit further root cell division or growth. A surfactant blend strips away grease and slime from the roots permitting penetration of the formulation into the root mass. A foaming agent provides a durable, fine textured 'vehicle' to ensure it makes maximum contact with all roots and pipe surfaces.
